2 Jet Z
2JetZ (alternatively 2 Jet Z) is a hand-built custom car created by Luis Rodriguez in 2018. Blending futuristic and retro aesthetics, the design was heavily inspired by jet-powered aircraft, Bonneville Salt Flats belly tanker racers, and a concept sketch by former Hot Wheels designer Dwayne Vance nicknamed FacePeeler (adapted with Dwaynes permission). Weighing only 1,600 lbs, the vehicle is built upon a Nissan 300ZX chassis that has been heavily modified with a custom chrome-moly tubular frame, a molded aluminum skin, and a custom aero-tubing front suspension angled at 30 degrees. The car gets its name from its powerplant: a fully race-built 3.0L Toyota 2JZ-GTE twin-turbocharged inline-6 (the same engine found in the Toyota Supra). Producing between 517 and 627 horsepower depending on the boost level, the engine utilizes F1-style twin radiator cooling and is mated to a Subaru Impreza WRX STi 6-speed transmission (TY856UW1MA) that was uniquely converted into a transaxle.
