Porsche 918 Spyder
The Porsche 918 Spyder is a plug-in hybrid supercar produced by Porsche from 2013 through 2015; this car was preceded by a concept was which was unveiled at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. This concept car, retrospectively known as the 918 Spyder Concept, was powered by a 3.4L V8 which is said to be related to that of the engine used in the RS Spyder. Power output is said to be more than 500 BHP from the engine alone, with 218 additional BHP from the electric motors; the concept car claimed to be capable of 94 mpg. The car received some 2000 declarations of interest, to which Porsche responded by approving the car for production. After heavy revision, the full-production version of the car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show three years later.
