Bad to the Blade
Bad to the Blade is a concept open-wheel race car that merges fighter jet aerodynamics with an aggressive profile; it is intended to be a futuristic IndyCar, hence a placeholder name of "Futuristic IndyCar" was used in certain material and exhibitions. A fully functional, life-size version was constructed by Action Vehicle Engineering to commemorate the Indianapolis 500s centennial in the 2011 Fearless at the 500 documentary; it is powered by a 1,000cc turbocharged four-cylinder motorcycle engine and features a number of aerodynamic innovations to generate ground effect and at least 2,646 lbs (1,200 kg) of downforce. It has reached speeds of 230 mph (370 km/h) on an inverted track in the Hot Wheels For Real (HWTF) online series. Originally finished in a white Team Hot Wheels livery, the car was later rewrapped in a matte black color-shifting scheme featuring Hot Wheels rims and Firestone tires to honor the brands 50th anniversary. Some versions of this model have a copyright year of 20
